AGROPELTER – “The Book of Hours” – 2025
Agropelter is a progressive rock project from Norway. It is the creative outlet of Kay Olsen, a new contender on the blossoming Norwegian prog scene. The music draws as much inspiration from classic prog groups like Genesis, Camel, King Crimson, and Eloy as from classic composers Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Bach, Vangelis, and Terje Rypdal. On the debut album, Agropelter used lots of Mellotron, Hammond organs, ARP, cembalo, Minimoogs, and Taurus bass pedals. Kay Olsen has played all guitars, bass, church organ, and keyboard leads. Also contributing is Jonas Reingold (Steve Hackett, The Flower Kings, Kaipa, Karmakanic) on fretless bass, Mattias Olsson (Änglagård, White Willow, Molesome) on percussion, vintage synth overdubs and atmosphere, Andreas Sjøen (Umpfel, VÅDE, Sean Ashe) on drums, along with lots of classical musicians on various strings and woodwinds. Mattias Olsson has made a name for himself by doing projects and bands such as Anima Morte, Necromonkey, The Opium Cartel, White Willow, Molesome, Isobar, and, of course, Anglagard. He has this track record that shows that he doesn’t stop at any stop sign and wait for others; he keeps the engine running when it comes to his musical background in the history of the progressive rock movement.
PAREIDOLON – “The Unattainable Shore” – 2025
Pareidolon is a Canadian progressive rock band formed in 2015 in Nelson, BC by bassist/composer Lachlan Tocher. Taking influence from the classic 70s and 80s bands with a touch of Symphonic and metal flair. The Musicians draw their influences from classic prog bands like Camel, Marillion, and Genesis, as well as newer acts such as Steven Wilson, Anathema, Riverside, and others. Pareidolon released their first album, “Aporía”, in 2017, and the follow-up, “The Unattainable Shore”, in 2025. After an absurd amount of hard musical work and delays at the record sections, the second studio album is finally here! “The Unattainable Shore” is a loose thematic concept album, with each song serving as a distinct musical statement, yet all dealing with the idea of striving for a goal and falling short. Meticulously crafted over the last 8 years, and executed with every shred of musical ability that all the musicians possess, they hope all fans and you enjoy the long-overdue fruits of their labour! “The Unattainable Shore” contains 7 songs, runs 67 minutes, and will be available on CD at the time of release, only from their Bandcamp or in person. The band’s line-up consists: Brittany Keller – Voice; Ashley Pearce – Guitars, Vocals; Anna Katarina – Piano, Organ, Synthesizers, Vocals; Lachlan Tocher – Bass, Guitars, Synthesizers, Vocals, and Aybars Savat – Drums, Percussion, Vocals. Highly Recommended.
COSMIC CATHEDRAL – “Deep Water” – 2025
The Cosmic Cathedral Project is a perfect union of talented, famous, and incredible musicians such as Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Neal Morse Band), Chester Thompson (Genesis), Phil Keaggy & Byron House. The debut album, “Deep Water,” comes from jam sessions where Jerry Guidroz assembled the best parts. What resulted from all those sessions was a more groove-oriented feel. The album’s centerpiece is a 38-minute song, “Deep Water Suite”. The music features the Neal Morse style of Progressive Rock, with some jazzy parts and more straightforward rock elements. There is no plan for a tour in 2025, but the band is going to perform at Morsefest in October 2025. Much of the album, and certainly ‘Time To Fly,” came directly from the jam sessions, where were spontaneously created in the studio. Even a lot of the lyrics just came out of their mouths! It was amazing. “Deep Water” was released on April 25th, 2025, and consists of Neal Morse – keyboards, guitars, vocals; Phil Keaggy – guitars, vocals; Bryon House – bass, and Chester Thompson – drums and percussion.
