Caravela Escarlate is a symphonic progressive rock band from Brazil formed in Rio De Janeiro, a project from multi-instrumentalist and composer David Lino Paiva, with the intention of crossing the influences of the brazilian music with progressive rock and experimental hints. since his adolescence, David is a lover from the seventies prog rock style. after some line-up changes, in 2011, David joins keyboardist Ronaldo Rodrigues, also a member of the brazilian bands as Arcpelago and former Massahara, Modulo 1000 and O Terço Side B, for a new line-up, following as a trio format including the drumer Elcio Cáfaro. David’s main influences range from the harmonic richness of brazilian progressive music as national bands O Terço, Terreno Baldio, Som Nosso De Cada Dia, Azymuth and Veludo, to international references of seventies follow in the line of Genesis, Yes, PFM, Le Orme, Museo Rosenbach, Mike Oldifield and Nektar. © Picture by CARLOS VAZ
