“MIXED FEELINGS” IS THE NAME OF THE NEWEST RELEASE ALBUM FROM THOMAS BUTTERFLY

History’s about Thomas Butterfly goes back to 1980 when Lauro Levandowski (guitar) and Marcelo Wolff (vocals) along with Leandro, bass and Odir, drums all from ‘Slow’ band, performed heavy metal (sung in Portuguese) in local schools. They were unashamed pioneers of this shocking music style in the local scene and spread it to theaters and festivals, setting an example, followed by many local bands later. In 1985, “Slow” band decided to broaden their musical experimentation and enter the magical world of progressive rock. The heavy mood was then surrounded by climatic keyboards (A. Heidrich) and the musical possibilities enlarged. The band’s work was divulged in local theaters, radios, and also in São Paulo. In 1988 the band’s name was changed to Thomas Butterfly and the lineup changed too, as Lauro and Marcelo moved on, now together with drummer and producer Daniel Fontoura. His influence added not only quality and technique to compositions but he also introduced the band to many professional musicians playing at famous ‘cover’ bands. Many of them were invited to perform with the trio in shows in great theaters like Porto de Elis and Opinião. Bad Contact and Praying Dolls were played on radio stations along with interviews and divulgement in Veja magazine and local newspapers. A lot was done up to 1994. In 1995 the band spread to support underground projects.
